Privacy Policy

  • Don’t do anything online that you wouldn’t do in real life!
  • Use common sense. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Beware of common scams and fraud. A common scam is to contact you and inform you that they know where your pet is but that you must keep them discreet. Once they have your attention, they start asking for money in untraceable transactions, such as e-wallet, phone to phone and airtime. Should you refuse to pay, these scammers become threatening and abusive.
  • Never provide your personal or banking information – (e.g.credit card number, ID number, physical address etc.)
  • Do not engage in small talk in the sense of giving out details such as your living arrangements, career, vehicles, other pets, children etc. Criminals use any and all avenues to defraud and commit more serious crimes.
  •  If you are suspicious, reach out to us through email at info@findmypaws.co.za or Mobile 082 734 0779 in South Africa.
  • In case of fraud or illegal activity, don’t hesitate to contact us and report it to the Police.
  • Make yourself aware of common scams and fraud. Do not believe the promise of large sums of money for your help in any task.
  • Please contact us about any attempted fraud or suspicious emails, ads, or other activity by community members. In case of fraud or illegal activity, we also recommend that you report it to the Police.
  • Never send or wire money to people who supposedly found your pet. This includes never mailing a cheque or using payment services like Skrill, Bidpay, eWallet, Western Union, Money Gram, and e-wallet. We believe that these forms of funds transfer are favoured by fraudsters. Familiarise yourself with the latest scam trends.
  • If you feel uncomfortable, ask the finder to send you a video of your found pet.
  • You are never supposed to pay or reward anyone for finding your pet unless you have specified a reward.
  • Always meet in public places and never alone, take a friend or family member with you.
